Peace party people as we proceed to give you
what you need it’s time to move on to 2012 & say Peace to 2011. But before
we blowout the candle, I feel it’s only right to do a Jerzie hip hop 2011 Rap
up! So while we all watched
the thrown, it’s time to watch our own!
This year
was very positive and productive for Jerzie; we watch dope shows, hot artist
emerge, and most of all Better
Communication. Raw Form Sundays gave us rare grooves, beats, handcrafted
cuts, melodic blends all spear headed by hip hop veterans Rhino, Brown bum and
Porno. With the unfortunate closing of the Armory Tavern earlier in the year,
it severed as eviction notice to all of New Jersey’s finest hip hop superheros.
But thanks to people like KGB, Sol Zalez, &Phace for keeping the NJ hip
hop movement going at the Lucky7 bar with strong shows & driven open mics. Hahzy RU &
Lethal prove to be the L.ON.S for the street battles. Also cleaning up the scene
was the Custodian of Record taking his garden variety show on the road
spreading love by showcasing talent down in Trenton. Big shout to the Pryme
Prolifik, Daniel Joseph, Sheena She & Poet for their hard work pushing the
Jersey Hip Hop agenda. Good promotion, artist support & social media were
the recipe for Success. GREAT JOB GUYS!
WHOS
HOT?
Let’s see who make the A sharp A list for 2011. It was a big year for Venomous
2000. This ultra emcee blaze the stage with great NRG & good music. (Common
watch out) Spit Sargent Rhymageddon commanded fans with a strong album. We
witness the rise of Grumpy entertainment. Runt Dawg and Drift name still rings
bells & Seven continues handles he bizzness. Artifacts are back in the lab. Tone Liv the JYD of Jerzie &
Gagi slings pies for her dawg? Producers Clinton Place, Dj Priority, Divine
Drummer, & Gov Mattic stay busy in 2011.While Dj Frosty & Wallah hittin
heavy on Hot 97. Just Blaze & Rozay heat up the air
waves with a new track. And the ladies Absolutely represent this year Deniro
& Purple Haze jump on the Rock Steady stage, the girl king takes it to the
radio and Nite hits the big screen. Tonia Champagne does it big for the kids! Black Flag still keeps us fresh to def & Middy
Ink marks the spot when it comes to clothing and music. Naughty, DoitAll shows Jersey loyalty & Roc Davis becomes an Urban Legend. Anti Industry give NJ some
visuals. Special mention to John Robinson Cobblestone, Jersey Underdog &
Poor Kingz! That my story and I’m sticking to it! Happy NU Jeru! Peace
Black45
